Five Must Have Spices for Winter

Cinnamon is a sweet spice and can be used in baked goods, smoothies, hot chocolate and desserts to name a few.

Ginger is great as a tea, in baked goods, stir frys, and and mixed into vegetable juices.

Turmeric is what gives curries their rich colour. Turmeric's slightly warm and peppery flavor works especially well with cauliflower, potatoes, and root vegetables. (thekitchn.com)

Parsley is a great addition to pestos, pizzas, dressings and on top of warm winter curries.

Garlic is great in soups, sauces, pesto, marinades and stir-frys. Or, you can simply chop up a few cloves into your food.
